The Office of the Ombudsman has added to its ranks six new investigators in order to better execute its broad mandate and cope with the public’s ever-increasing demand for the services of the office.
A limited staff complement has for long been one of the constraints faced by the office. These appointments represent a major effort towards addressing that constraint.
The newly-appointed investigators who recently underwent an induction training will be posted to the various branches of the office.
Decentralization being one of the priorities of the office, four of the new investigators will be sent to the regions to build on the success registered so far in bringing justice to the doorsteps of the rural people
Now for the first time since the setting up of our first regional branch in 2008, each of the three regional offices will have an additional investigator.
Another investigator will be posted to the soon-to-be-opened office in the Central River Region.
The Ombudsman will not relent in its efforts to ensuring that the requisite human and material resources are available for the continuous and improved dispensation of administrative justice.
