In our drive to Improve complaints and Investigations management, the Office of the Ombudsman trains staff and management on our new complaint database management system which is expected to roll out soon.
The training which was held at our Headquarters in Cape Point, Bakau on the 12 and the 13 of June 2023 for our regional officers, followed the training of our officers at the Headquarters on 7 and 8 June 2023 on the same system.
When deployed online, the database management system will allow all authorized persons to view, update and share cases in real-time. It will ensure automatic archiving for easier reference using auto-generated reference numbers based on the referencing system being used by the Office of the Ombudsman. The system will also save time, and other resources and Increase transparency and data security.
It also has the ability to generate reports to improve internal learning and fulfil our statutory reporting requirements, including the ability to segregate data. The lead trained and co-consultant, Dr. Bama Cesay, expressed his satisfaction on the training. He stated that the participants were satisfied with the system which informs him as a developer that the system met the requirements.
